“Congratulations,You won 50,00,000 rs price as lucky winner. Follow this steps to withdraw your price” – This message popped up in Mr.Sahu’s  mobile.As common man Mr.Sahu followed the step of withdraw and entered his UPI Pin and lost his 25,000 rs. This is a common incident we see in our daily life , this is a type of Social engineering attack used to scam peoples intentionally to steal there money. but what to do after this?

Mr.Sahu gone to police station to file a complaint that he was scammed  and lost his money. The SP of that city told Mr.Sahu about “Laws related to cyber crimes “.

There are some laws existing in order to redress this type of cyber crimes in ‘IT ACT 2000’ but we are not aware about all this laws.Some of the common but importants laws are:

Section 43 and Section 66 deals with data theft,transmitting virus into system,hacking,destroying data or denying access to network, punishes the person with 3 years imprisonment or fin upto 5 lacs or both.

Tampering with computer source is also an punishable offence under Section 65 . Section 66E mentions the punishment for violation of privacy i.e capturing ,publishing or distributing private photos without consent than punishment upto 3 years imprisonment or fine upto 2 lacs.

This are some sections which are neccesary to be known as the cybercrime is raising day by day and unfortunately womans are been targeted for crimes like cyber stalking,cyber bullying and blackmailing through private photos. So, BE AWARE BE SAFE.
